Windy Innovation, Italian Style

CREATIVE SOLUTIONS often require breaking the rules, and breaking away from old patterns and ways of thinking. Italy is a nation steeped in history, culture and art. Celebrated for its modern design, Italy is not known for a commitment to the environment. That’s why today’s story in the New York Times is so enlightening. Small towns across Italy, which after all is a nation of small towns, are rejecting the status quo and becoming energy independent. Some, like Tocco Da Casauria, are even making money by generating an energy surplus. Makes you wonder why American companies and small towns don’t just say no to the power barons and assert independence. All I can say to mighty little Tocco is “Bravo!”
