JOHN VALERI, THE HARTFORD BOOK EXAMINER, asked me some great questions about CRASHING AUGUSTA. “Long narrative stories are a challenge. You need to become close to your subjects without losing your edge or shading your portrayals. It’s natural and human to become friendly with people you spend a lot of time interviewing, but then you can’t let that color your story.  You have to be willing to write passages and craft scenes that will test or end those relationships.”
